OSLO - The Norwegian Tax Administration has entered into an agreement with EDB for mainframe operating services. The contract runs to 2017, and represents total contract value of NOK 120 million. "This contract demonstrates that EDB is a very competitive vendor of mainframe operating services, and will help to secure this position for the future. I am very pleased by the confidence in EDB that the Norwegian Tax Administration has demonstrated by choosing us as its supplier for the coming years", comments Lars Erik Johannesen, Executive Vice President, Public Sector and Industry, at EDB Business Partner. "This contract will give the Directorate of Taxes long-term, cost effective and stable operating services for its core systems. In addition, the contract paves the way for technological innovation in the mainframe environment. I look forward to this collaboration with EDB", comments Sverre Norberg who is Head of Information Technology at the Tax Administration's IT and Service Partner (SITS). SITS is one of the largest IT environments in Norway, and is the Tax Administration's partner and supplier of IT and administrative services. EDB has supplied services to the Tax Administration for many years in the areas of operating services, consulting and printing, as well as the distribution of information from the national population register. This new contract represents a renewal of EDB's responsibility for operating the Tax Administration's mainframe environment. The contract comes into effect on 15 October, and runs for seven years with total contract value over this period in the order of NOK 120 million. (Source - EDB Press Release) |
