ABA names new executive director of Card Policy Council Print E-mail
Friday, 11 July 2014

WASHINGTON – Molly Wilkinson has been named senior vice president and executive director of the American Bankers Association’s (ABA) Card Policy Council, the leading voice on legislative, regulatory and communications issues facing banks in the card industry.  She will join ABA in mid-August.

“Molly’s diverse leadership experience within the industry, on the Hill and in the executive branch make her a tremendous addition to ABA’s Card Policy Council,” said Kenneth Clayton, ABA’s executive vice president of legislative affairs and chief counsel.  “The skills she brings to the table will allow ABA and the Card Policy Council to further expand our capabilities as we work to serve this critical and constantly evolving industry segment.”

Wilkinson will play a leadership role on card and payments system issues, helping ABA members advocate in these critical areas.  She comes to the association from Regions Financial Corp., where she served as senior vice president of regulatory policy and government relations.  Prior to her time at Regions, Wilkinson held leadership positions in government, including stints at the U.S. Senate Homeland & Governmental Affairs Committee, the Small Business Administration, the U.S. General Services Administration and the Department of Labor.

A native of Amsterdam, N.Y., Wilkinson holds a juris doctor from Albany Law School and a bachelor’s degree from College of the Holy Cross.
