'Credit to Chemicals' - A NEW International Group Initiative From ICTF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 01 July 2014

The Association of International Credit and Trade Finance Professionals (ICTF) is delighted to announce the formal establishment of its Chemicals Industry Credit Group, following founder meetings at its Basel (October '13) and Barcelona (May' 14) Conferences.

Eligibility to join the new Group will comprise part of an overall membership of the Association - no additional fees will be involved - and is open to any international credit practitioner working within the business and support infrastructure of major Chemicals manufacturers with substantial export trade regionally or worldwide. All Meetings will be legally monitored to ensure compliance with antitrust and confidentiality of Meeting legislation. The next will take place at the conclusion of ICTF's Prague Conference on Tuesday, 21 October, the full Programme for which may be found at http://www.ictfworld.org/page/Prague2014Symposium.

The general purpose of the Group will be 'to exchange and discuss, during regular meetings, relevant historical credit information and credit management techniques in a legal, ethical and strictly confidential manner. The intention is to exchange information and/or discuss topics of general knowledge to enable further professionalism and facilitate ongoing improvements in the development of the credit profession in an international context'. Companies such as Chevron Phillips Chemicals International and Shell Chemicals are amongst more than a dozen major corporates already committed to membership of the Group.

ICTF was established in September 2010 and already has over 730 individual members worldwide, embracing a wide and eclectic mix of global industries. The not-for-profit Association is headquartered in Baltimore, USA, with a European office in Oxford, UK.
