NCR appeals to consumers to demand their IDís from credit providers to be able to vote Print E-mail
Wednesday, 07 May 2014

The National Credit Regulator (NCR) is appealing to all consumers whose identity documents (ID) were taken in by credit providers in exchange of loans, to demand their return in order to be able to vote in the general elections.

Such retention of ID books is a criminal offence in terms of the National Credit Act (NCA) and must immediately be reported to the South African Police Service (SAPS).

“The NCR wishes South Africa and all the voters well during the elections”, says Nomsa Motshegare, CEO of the NCR.
