ING Group: Michel Tilmant to step down as CEO

ING announced earlier this morning, that in light of the extraordinary developments over the past few months and given his personal condition, Michel Tilmant will step down from the Executive Board as of today. Michel Tilmant will be an advisor to the company until his retirement from ING on 1 August 2009.

Chinese economy - sharp decline

A raft of Chinese data is scheduled for release later this week and will provide further evidence of the economy's sharp downturn at the end of the year. Budget surplus of SEK 135 billion in 2008

The Swedish central government budget showed a surplus of SEK 135 billion in 2008. The large surplus is to a large extent explained by sales of government-owned enterprises. The sales of Vin & Sprit, Vasakronan and OMX totaled SEK 77 billion in 2008.
